About Oslo Filmfond

Oslo Filmfond aims to promote audio-visual production and activity in the Oslo region and strengthen the funding base for audio-visual production by providing grants for and investing in audio-visual productions.

The fund seeks to promote connection to the region and a broad range of innovative, sustainable and climate-friendly productions, as well as a diversity of voices and expressions, gender equality and inclusion.

Oslo Filmfond was established on 24 April 2021 and is an independent limited liability company owned by the City of Oslo. The fund is intended as a supplement to existing funding and financing opportunities (Norwegian Film Institute and Viken Filmsenter) and fills an unmet need for the industry. The City of Oslo will continue its work to expand the fund to include Viken County Municipality, so that the whole of Norway is included in regional film policy.

In 2021, the City of Oslo allocated NOK 9 million to operating assets and investment funds for Oslo Filmfond, and a further NOK 4 million for operations in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The City of Oslo also provided an additional funding of one million kroner in February 2022. Additional funding will be allocated in 2022–2023 and considered in ordinary budget processes. The same applies to operating assets and investment funds after 2023. The Board of Directors also works to ensure that Oslo Filmfond manages private investment funds and government grants in line with the other regional film funds.

Managing Director

Leif Holst Jensen

Holst Jensen joins Oslo Filmfond from Kristiania University College, where he has been head of Westerdals Institute for Film and Media for the past seven years.

He has previous production experience from the Danish Broadcasting Corporation and the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, where he was part of the editorial team for international news. For years, he was the General Secretary of the Norwegian Games, TV and Film Producers’ Association, where he received political support for several positive changes in the framework conditions for Norwegian film.

Holt Jensen has an MBA in Strategic Management from the Norwegian School of Economics, and has completed courses in journalism, law and media production.
